Violent Smash 'em Up Ape Out Gets a Playable Trailer

Ape Out, a stylishly violent top-down action game from creator Gabe Cuzzillo and publisher Devolver Digital, was officially announced today with a “playable trailer” you can download on Steam. It’s coming to PC and unspecified consoles in Summer 2017.

The demo has you take charge of a recently escaped gorilla as he grabs, throws, and smashes his way through a series of guard-filled sequences while the credits flash on-screen. If you don’t want to play it, you can also watch the trailer below.

Our preview of Ape Out from GDC 2017 describes it as an intense, energetic experience with a lot of potential. You’ll be able to demo the actual game at PAX East this weekend. IGN will be in attendance, so keep an eye out for all our PAX coverage over the next few days.
